Little challenge, try and work out the problem here and try to explain it in plain English, as I really have no clue!

the problem is that the host name given to the server in the HELO command doesn't match that of the server sending the email...at least that's how I'd interpret it |

So what is at fault then? And how would I explain that to the average end user, in a non technical jargon fashion? |

the sending server is at fault (unless there's a misconfiguration on the other server).
check that the domain the server is reporting is correct, if it is then the problem is at the other end.
to explain it to a non-geek, I'd just say there is a configuration problem |
