I've been looking into making myself a little wireless network. I've looked at the following hardware on amazon, but before I go out and buy anything, I want to make sure it all works like I think it does. Here is the hardware I looked at:
The setup I have in my head is pretty simple, the WAP plugs into my modem's ethernet port. The PCMCIA card slots into my laptop, and the USB thingy plugs into my pc. The one thing I'm unsure of is if I will need a hub/switch, another pc to act as a gateway, etc. I have a feeling the WAP will pretty much be all those things in one, but I'm not sure. Can anyone tell me if this would work with just these three pieces of hardware, or will I need anything else? |
