I made a very big (£200+) order from Amazon.co.uk on Friday evening, and all the items were marked as to be dispatched within 24 hours, and still are at present, although it is now Monday, and the estimated delievery date is tommorow, but the items have still not been dispatched.
With Amazon when I have used them before, things have always been dispatched within a hour or two, but this order seems to be taking a long time (I have selected deliver when products become availible rather than when they all are ready).
How long would you leave it before giving them a ring?

Darren wrote: | See if you get them tomorrow if thats the delivery date. | There's no way they'll get them tommorow, I don't even have a delivery date for certain, thats just an estimated one, they haven't even dispatched them yet even though all the items are in stock and have been since I ordered them on Friday, they normally dispatch within an hour of ordering, but haven't done today. The Order Status page still says order not dispatched....... and it takes 48 hours at least for the goods to come after being dispatched |

Maybe the data on Amazons website isn't accurate. The DB might say the items are in stock but they may not be in reality. Or maybe the system that updates the order status is screwed! who knows. It won't hurt to call them tomorrow and find out whats happening. |

Well here it is, 20th, and have the items turned up? Have they hell! They're now due tommorow according to the estimate, but have STILL not been dispatched, I thought the soon meant exactly that, I expect them to be dispatched this morning, but hell no, I really need that CD-RW drive too, because this PC is going to pretty much crash completely so it doesn't boot at all soon, and I need a back-up solution before it's too late. |

I've never used Amazon for anything other than books/CDs, how do their prices compare with specialist mailorder computer places?
I've never had any big delays from them, but then I've never been waiting for something urgently from them. |

I doubt they're the best, but they are cheaper than most. I have their associates program running through my website, and I have earned a £75 Amazon gift certificate, so I thought I would put it to good effect, and most of all I trust Amazon, and always have not had a problem with them, always tend to be quick at delivery too.
I've had problems with Jungle in the past, with billing issues (they took 3 days to authenticate my card!)
If I had any shops remotley near, I would do it that way, but I want a few items, and I don't particuarly want to carry a load of big boxes home on the bus!
I just hope it comes before this PC totally refuses to work! |

Phone lines are open till 5 according to their website, they have until 4.30 to dispatch the items, if they are not dispatched by then, I feel I have a right to complain, my order has said this now since yesterday afternoon :

I don't believe this, they've just reduced the price of the CD-RW drive that I ordered by £10, I STILL haven't had my goods dispatched, and they're refusing to charge me at the new lower price, are they trying to **** me off or something?
Also now the printer I ordered is now on order and not in stock, when I ordered it, it was in stock, this morning, it is in stock, and now I am told it is not so my order is being held up.
I ORDERED IT ON FRIDAY? and it was in stock then and still was this morning, therefore someone else has been dispatched one, when I orderd one A LONG TIME before them by the looks of things - why wasn't that one reserved for me? I thought it was first come first served, looks like they had the stock but wouldn't send it?

Yeah, I was lucky, as my hard drive failed just after I made a back-up, I'm just glad it came, otherwise I would be without a HD - Forgot to back up my emails though!
Slightly a bit off topic, but does anyone know any good any software for CD Inserts/covers that I can create and print off, I got something with Nero, but it's not great to be honest.
Any Ideas? |
