Well, we'd like to encourage posting, and the easiest way is this one. Your idea would be much more complicated...

I had thought of this earlier, but this requires changing phpbb to great extent if we do not want adsystem to take much load from the system. Presently adsystem can handle 2 million hits per day without taking any moderate/heavy load on the server.

It's understandable that you want to encourage more postings however it seems that their is an increasing number of unjustified posts that are being made because of the ad system.
Could it be done in a fairer way ? .. Like the ad's being based on how many times you sign in to your account to read the forum, rather then how many posts you make ?

I know that this may not be possible. Just an idea ! Smile

Richard, you may realize that nobody want to login everytime on personal comp. plus person can also logout and login again and again. As of bad posts, the bad posts are moderated and then corressponding ads for them are also not shown Smile

They have to now to get their ad's shown if they wish to post. Otherwise, how do you know who's ad to show ? Razz Laughing

This is an ancient topic, but I was just wondering if the ad system is working all right for all of you now, as in displaying proper ads, and not your own.

Also note that I have update the ad stats page a little: http://www.4webhelp.net/forums/ads.php

I've just noticed a prob on the Ad stats page. In the Ad Impressions per Click, I'm getting:
