As long as you give it a year. If you take ONE day, and it's down for more than x% of that day, you can't ask for a refund. The uptime is calculated per year (or maybe per month if you pay monthly).

Doesn't surprise me! Very few companies are happy to give a refund Smile

Their forgot password page doesn't work now, well the page does, but they've deleted the CGI file it submits to, so I can't get a new password, therefore I can't use my account....

PHP and Perl is no longer supported on Portland:

With immediate effect, Portland Communications Ltd can no longer support
PHP or Perl on our Freeweb Accounts.

A small minority of users have continued to abuse the Free service and
this is no longer viewed as acceptable.

If your website relies on PHP please upgrade to one of our paid services
as quickly as possible. We believe our Enhanced hosting package offers
excelent value for money and retains PHP.

I used to be on Portland's enhanced hosting it was a joke. I moved my domain to 123-reg because Portland wanted £30 to renew a UK domain. I mean what a rip off. I suppose you've gotta pay for that free hosting some how. Have fun getting off their mailing lists BTW as well they kept on sending me renewal reminders for months after I told them politely where to go.

Anyway, I'm with 34sp.com now so I much happier Wink

Cheers Norm Very Happy
