Hey, i'm on windows xp, I just got new versions of apache, which is 2.0.36 and php version 4.2.1 which are both binarys full source code, and I am trying to use modules. I first had a problem with running php without crashing, which turned out to be 3 lines that I had to add to httpd.conf, this is my 4.2.0 version of php, (I tried both of them out)
LoadModule php4_module "C:/php/experimental/apache2filter.dll"
AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .php3 .php4 .phtml
I then made a simpe text file, saved it as php2.php uploaded it to my server root, ie c:/usr/www/tbn.servemp3.com I try to run it, and instead of the code being interpreted, it shows me the raw code on the web. I dont know what to say? I have read tons of articles on this, and cant seem to find anything that helps me out. btw, the http extensions work perfectly, no problem, only with php does it have a problem with. And ass to the httpd.conf the only changes I made to accomidate php was adding those 3 lines, which I think is sufficient? or am I wrong. please whatever it is please somebody help me out, here is a link to the php site, which is not working

Works for me
Did you restart Apache? That might be why it wasn't working before... |

what the hell? I just tried it out on my own compuer, and yet again it Did Not Work. I started to think you were toying with my mind, so then I came upon an idea, maybe it is just the computer that is hosting hte http server? so I went onto my other desktop, and tried it out, and Yes it did work! altho it doesn't display correctly on the server that is running this php? then just to confirm it, I went onto my laptop, and again it worked. I'm guessing this is some sort of a bug? because it does not display the code properly on the computer that is running it, only shows properly on other computers. Any suggestions on how I can possibly fix this? |

Apache 2.x has EXPERMENTAL support for PHP 4.2 and later, best bet would be to use a more standard distro, such as 1.3.24 & PHP 4.2.
Just for kicks, how are you calling your page up on the server, because if you are putting in C:\ etc in, it won't work, need to call it up by the URL, or http://localhost/path/to/files/ |

Is it showing you the outputted HTML, or the raw PHP code? If it's the former, then it shouldn't be too hard to fix... |
