Is there no alternative to NTL?

Thank you for your replies, especially JWKConsulting.

More often than not, my accounts are still inaccessible when I try them on the large public networks I'm using here (e.g., those of MIT and the City of Cambridge MA). I've continued posting about this for the last three weeks in CW's forums -- you can check page 2 of my thread at:

http://forums.cyberwings.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=653&perpage=15&pagenumber=2

Shawn's last reply about the DNS settings was:

"I'll have someone look into these two subdomains, but we did add all subdomain records to our DNS... do a lookup in ns1/ns1.cyberwingsdc.com"

This was over a week ago, however, and he hasn't said anything more specific about it since then. Earlier, he also said:

"we have done the RIGHT things when it comes to DNS, I don't know why it's not propagating throughout the Internet..... "

But that was after a week of waiting for it to clear up, and most of the people I've talked or corresponded with have said that it shouldn't take more than a couple of days max, to propagate.

I've posted in some other online forums, and I've also asked several other people who do this stuff for a living about the problems. They've all pretty much advised me that the settings must be screwed up somehow. One of them, who checked out my accounts online with several tools and who also read through my threads in these and other online forums, advised me to switch to a new hosting company.

The settings have also affected other subdomains at CW. See this thread in the CW forums:

http://forums.cyberwings.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=655

I'm not sure whether Shawn's in denial about the DNS problems or not, but as far as I can tell, they've done nothing to fix them. CW has stopped offering subdomain hosting, and they've started offering refunds for subdomain accounts. I asked for my refund yesterday, but so far I've just gotten a sort of legalistic response from CW Billing saying:

"Will we be 100% cancelling these accounts for you?

Did you choose NOT to have a domain account setup instead of using
these
subdomains?

Are there any other accounts you have open with Cyberwings right now?

We will grant you these refunds if:

a) We will be cancelling your hosting and
b) If you do not have any other domains setup in lieu of these.

CW Billing"

I've written back to them a couple of times, as well as to Shawn, but all I've gotten so far is a form letter saying "You are receiving this automated response since Shawn is currently out of town on urgent family business."

Guess he's on vacation now.

Finally have got the refund.

No, I haven't tried the CW chat room -- what's it like, anyway, Daniel? Surprised

If you get there in the late evening (if you live in Europe), you'll find loads of people on there, including staff.
