RewriteRule not working

Hi,

I must be doing something wrong. From another referrer I am able to push the images; here what I've putted:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?example.com/.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule \.(gif|jpg|js)$ - [F]

I took this code from another website. It didn't work. So, I tryed:

Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?example.com/.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule \.(gif|jpg|jpeg|js)$ /images/Volunteers_1.jpg

Still doesn't work. What's wrong?
