Hi, I have read some of the previous posts and I'm having trouble with using HTACCESS for HTTP authentication. I'm highly considering using a PHP-driven validation system, since this is totally not working.

However, I'll ask y'all for help...

Here's my HTACCESS FILE:
PATH = http://apo.rose-hulman.edu/testdir/random.php
Quote:

Options All

AuthType Basic
AuthName "Restricted Directory"
AuthUserFile /home/webmaste/.htpasswd
AuthGroupFile /dev/null

<Limit GET>
order allow,deny
allow from all
Require valid-user
</Limit>

the username = user1
the password = password

Try it and see what happens. Also, I have went to http://www.e2.u-net.com/htaccess/make.htm to make my password already. I have even used htpasswd right on the system to create the file and it still doesn't work, so please give me your feedback ASAP.

Thanks,
Wes Smile
