Ah well, plucked up the courage to let you loose on my new design
http://www.rosepresentations.co.uk
Go for it!
(I know there's an issue with the Accessibility page at 2048*1024 screen resolution and 'smaller' text size in Internet Explorer even though there's no problems in Firebird, Mozilla, Netscape etc.)
(oh and for those that like to check, I know there are some of you out there, if you find a page that isn't validated let me know, I think I got them all)
Thanks
P.S. Daniel: it's all your fault, you and your new design putting everything to shame |

Nice design you've got there
About your links: while putting keyboard shortcuts on menu links can be useful, I'm not sure if it's worth it for every page's links .
Also your logo is one thing which I think could be worked on (it doesn't look as good as the rest of the design, nor does it fit in very well). |

Well I thought as there wasn't going to be many links in the whole site I'd see if I could make the whole site navigable without using the mouse, I think I achieved that.
Shhh, don't mention the logo, graphics hate me. I designed that way back in 1997 when I was doing my personal site and just haven't touched it since. The main problem with that one is that it hasn't resized very well, the larger one is much clearer. I should really see what I can do these days with it, although my graphics skills haven't progressed any since then |

I like the design, nice and simple I agree with Daniel about the logo though hehe
Code: | <table id="oldbrowser" width="98%" border="1">
<tr>
<td align="center">You are using a browser which is not compatible with CSS. Because of this, it is possible that our website may not appear
correctly in your browser. We apologise for the inconvenience but would like to re-assure you that you will not miss out on any information available on this site.
</td>
</tr>
</table> |
not sure why that's in a table, though perhaps I'm just being picky since most people won't see it anyway. it's also worth mentioning in that paragraph that it's also possible that there was simply a problem loading the stylesheet (rather than the browser not supporting it) - you may also want to link to a recommended browser (think mozilla )
the only other thing I'd mention is the domain, it bugs me when people use url masking - perhaps you should look into getting a real hosting account |

In a table basically so it stands out from the rest of the info, no other reason. Good point about maybe being a loading problem, I'll add that. Also good point about linking to a browser but I find that may be a bit presumptious, presuming it's lack of knowledge about browsers and not choice that makes them use a non-compatible browser. Anyway, I'd link to Firebird

hehe, I wondered if this would be brought up, to be honest I can't see the point just yet, if it brings more work with the new design I will do but for now I'm happy where it is. |
