Is there a way that I can backup my db's and my public_html directory automatically every day? Either emailed to me of uploaded through and ftp account to another site? The server is running on linux and cpanel.

yep. should be possible to set a cron job to backup your database, and mail it you,
As for back up of your public_html dir, you could make a cron to zip it and possibly mail it to you.
