Thats really pathetic, read the first few responses, where IPS try to deny it and later get found out, it shows you what they are like.

They want phpbb to replace invision board as the free product and make IPB paid only, I would have thought that's obvious.

Ever since IPS introduced this "registered" business, I've been suspicious of them. Then they introduced special features for registered users. Shocked All in all IPS's actions don't surprise me much anymore. In fact I might go as far as to say that I prefer vBulletin Surprised : at least they're a paid board and admit it...

Anybody want a laugh, look at this lovely statement from everyone's favourite IPB staff member : http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=43538#43538

PS, even if IPB went paid now, I'm not so sure I would choose them, because of what has happened in the past and the underhand tactics they use, I would opt for vBulletin without a doubt.

Thats just a theme/skin whatever you want to call it. There was one that looked exactly like phpbb. You couldnt tell the difference...

Admittedly I would rather have seen the smf site have a radically different template.
