Sorry Guy's,
My question seems to cover many forums. For the life of me I didn't know which one to choose.
Anyway, can I ask some advice please;-
I have my website (functioning).
I have MS Access (I'm new to it).
What I want to do is, update my website information from a MS Access database on my PC. As lame as it is that is all I know, I haven't got a clue how to go about it or if I need more software MSsql or PHP or whatever.
I realise this is probably too involved to give all the answers in a forum, but would you guys kindly suggest what (apart from Access) software I need and suggest where I might learn about how to do this (any web sources). Perhaps importantly, is it something a newbie should endeavour to do.
Many thanks for any info. |

I've only ever used mySQL, so I'm not sure, but I think the way you go about it would depend on which web server you're using... |

Thanks for the reply Odhinn.
Yes, my host has just about all of the facilities, MSsql, PHP and most other scripts etc.
I just can't find out hoe to put this all together with my Access database... i *think* thats the way some people do it, but I'm not sure and I can't find any simple tutorials on the web.
Thanks anyway. |

I'm not sure that you can combine them....the best thing to try would be to try to export the information from the access database and try to import it somehow into a mySQL database |

You could be right Odhinn. I've been unable to find any info., perhaps I was dreaming when I thought of it
Guess I'd better start looking for just the mySQL / PHP tutorials.
Thanks very much for your interest. |
