when i was installing a new driver i accidently selected not to use the driver and then when i restart my computer the windows xp pro thing loads then its just black. even when i start in safe mode the loading stops after mup.sys. i hope you can help me

Windows XP creates restore points, Im not sure how to access them though if you cant get into windows or safe mode. If you cant boot windows your sussposed to do it like this:
Boot into safe mode. Click the System Restore link. Click the Restore My Computer to an earlier time, next. I dont know if this will help you though if you cant get into safe mode.
