I'm looking for an up-to-date PHP Browser Detection script. What I have now is probably several years old, and wasn't specifically coded for NS6+ or for many newer browsers beyond NS and IE.
What do I mean by up-to-date? I'm not really just looking for the newest scripts on the block. Besides detecting newer browsers, I'd like it to work with newer versions of PHP, and to handle most of the popular browsers for Windows, Mac, and *nix, especially NS, IE, Mozilla, Opera, Konqueror, Safari, and Camino.
I've been searching on the Web, at Google, for example, and most of what's come up so far is JavaScripts, dead links, several-years-old PHP scripts, and advice to write your own by referring to the documentation. *violin plays bittersweet old song*
If you have tips on what to look for, where to search, etc., thank you. |

Thank you for the link, Kdawg.
That's actually one that I looked at in a Google search, but as it's close to a couple years old (by the article date, at least), and only handles NS and IE, is not really what I want. |

well thanks for helping me take a look. With so many JavaScripters out there, I can get why those would be fairly easy to come by. But I'd have thought PHP ones would be easier to find.
You think it could partly be because real PHP cowboys all roll their own? |
