I have finally found out what I should be doing for my website, using PHP with a database! Took me quite long!

Anyway, I have done a couple of tutorials, such as the one on webmonkey which is great but I like to have what I need to know in book form.

Can anyone recommend a good book that covers this? I have a copy of Beginning PHP4 from Wrox but this doesn't really go into enough detail for me. I want it to go into everything the webmonkey tutorial does really. I found Beginning PHP 4 Databases (alos from Wrox) which looks quite good but I would like to know what to get as they are expensive!

Thanks

Bill

Yeah, I have already got the Wrox book and I have had a look at the Sammy book and it is just the same as the Wrox.

Any more suggestions?

they're not books, but there are some PHP (and probably some mySQL) articles here at 4WebHelp, you might wanna read them.

Ok, I have got it down to these three books:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0672317842/ref=cm_mp_wli_/026-6151733-0658852?coliid=IDG405KY0G64U

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0596000413/ref=cm_mp_wli_/026-6151733-0658852?coliid=I2MG8AP8FZ2GL9

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0764535374/ref=cm_mp_wli_/026-6151733-0658852?coliid=I2RKUZYFC9XG6X

I think the last one looks the best but what do you say?

Thanks

Hi Bill,

What I usually do is go to a bookshop (usually quite big otherwise the selection isn't very good - in fact they probably won't even have any PHP books! Smile), and look at all the books. That way I don't end up buying a book which I don't like Razz.
