OK i was wonderin if it is possible to resitrict the viewing/downloading a specific files to say 100 per month or something. Reason is I am limited by hosting to data traffic but want to offer 3 particularly large files

Well, not without using a script. Apache cannot do this on its own AFAIK, at least not in a shared hosting environment.
