This data is based on users active over the past 15 minutes.

Who are the 16 guests? Do homeless bots sleep here at night? Neutral

Why is it so unusual for people to visit the site when it's night time in the US? People from all over the world surf the net and speak English, so it's not surprising to find them visiting the site, although I'm sure there are a few bots (such as Google Smile) once in a while. And what were you doing here at that time? Very Happy

I don't know, maybe it just seems spooky to be the only person here out of 17 or so who's openly revealing their identity during several visits over a period of several hours. Maybe part of that feeling comes from once belonging to a Flash forum site where 99% of the time I entered the chat rooms (as opposed to the posting boards) there were only a few 'ghost' handles hanging about, and the main way to tell if they were really there was to try and spook THEM (a lot of members used to joke that they must be bots too).

Hmmm... that's what I'M starting to wonder right now too... have been up for well over 24 hours now, and my attention span is starting to ...

Is Someone Watching Us Now...
One popular forum that's been down for several months now has just gone back up in the last couple days with a rebuilt site, and with a new feature I've never run into before: if you go to a certain page and roll over the names in the list of logged in members, the text that pops up under your mouse tells you roughly what that member is doing on the site. Have any of you seen this on other forum sites yet?

That's it, Daniel Image

Y' know, in case you collect suggestions for new tutorials, maybe a good one might be something along the lines of "A Newcomer's Guide To 4WH."

Or maybe even something more melodramatic-sounding, like "Indianiel Jonesett and the Hidden Mysteries of Ancient 4WebHelpNypt."...Wink Very Happy

Seriously. Smile

ehhh, try not to pay attention to that fool Guest who just posted above.[Image

verto, that "Who's Online" feature is actually available in most of today's popular bulletin boards Very Happy (vBulletin, Invision Board, phpBB, openBB, ikonBoard, etc...).

* wonders if adam's really one of them * Shocked

Daniel:
thanks Daniel, that's news to me. Most of my last 8 years of forum participation has been on custom-built boards I guess. The forum I mentioned above (another custom one) just added that feature, so it's new there, and first I remember seeing, tho' I've often suspected admins at many of the other forums have had that info.

adam:
are you not a homeless bot? Wink
