Is there anyway to upload files to your server using a php script? Also is there a way to check how many megabytes a file is?

Filesize: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.filesize.php
PHP FTP Functions: http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.ftp.php

However I believe some hosts don't have the FTP functions installed, so don't be surprised if it doesn't work.
