Plain layout

You may have noticed that there is now a box below the menu on all pages of the main site which says:

Set my default layout to:
- Standard (current)
- Plain

What does this mean?

It means that you can now choose a default layout to view the site with, which will be stored in a cookie, and remembered, so that every time you visit the site, it will show up with this layout.

What is the difference between the default and plain layouts?

The number of tables has been reduced
The right column has been removed (Who's Online, Stats, News)
The SQL queries and PHP necessary for the generation of the right column have been removed, which makes a faster loading page
The logo is smaller
