I am in desperate need of another host like f2s...a very nice one that doesnt cost anything. My site is not commercial, its just a small site to keep together an organization of mine that has about 10-15 members. Not worth paying 30 or 40 bucks for, but I would really like to keep the site up. Kinda sucks about f2s, I thought at once they said they would never go to subscriptions.... c'est la vie
i wish net ads has never went under...so much stuff would still be free. |

Fisrt of all, I think this thread will be moved to appropriate section.
Well, if you browse the Good Ones Forum, there is many good free hosts w/ no ads. They aren't like f2s but they offer good futures, like PHP/CGI/MySQL etc.
This is a small list :
-- http://www.skaggy.com/ (the best but not operating yet, however, they have a Forum)
-- http://www.nvphost.com/ (phpNuke)
You can look at www.cyberwings.com too. It is a paying service but starts at only 6$ and they offer too much. The support service is exceptional !
I was with f2s for 3 years and now I'm with Cyberwings and I recommand it. My site is personal too. Anyway, this is just my opinion
Hope helped you someway |

Well, I suppose that since he used to be hosted on f2s then he doesn't have a domain name for his site, which means that choosing to use CyberWings (I use them myself - they're excellent for the price I'm paying) will cost more than the mere cost of CyberWings hosting - at least 12 EUROs more will be needed to register a domain name. (I suggest joker.com for domain registration)
Anyway, why not ask for hosting from a personal site? So many personal sites out there (mostly for weblogs) agree to sub-host (via a subdomain), it should be a real snap to get such free hosting - just visit some personal weblogs and, on the sites that advertise that they sub-host, apply for such sub-hosting. |

Cyberwings will let you have a cyberwings.com subdomain if you want, so you don't HAVE to have a domain name. |

i recommend www.freeola.com - same as f2s minus the mysql (u can use freesql.org? for that anyway) 20Mb/CGI/PHP/Online Support - never needed to use it. pick from 1000 subdomains, use their dialup at least once every three months - pretty nice i'd say
send me an email if you have probs - webmaster@niallfleming.co.uk and if u register a domain with them, you get all that^ plus unlimited email and web space!!

Barrysworld: They now offer a free , banner free hosting service for any type of sites, php and cgi, ftp no ads and mysql coming soon on the Very latest version of apache, also you get a subdomain, quite good from my experience.
You don't have to have a gaming site |
