Hello,
How were you able to get the registered users name into the "Chat Block" with the join button?
I would like to do the same on my phpNuke site.
- Did you use special code?
- Would you be willing to share the code?
- Would this work with a chat client other than Webmaster.org?
- Did you have to purchase the Webmaster.org chat client ?
I noticed your settings were,
IRC Server: irc.4webhelp.net
Port: 7000
Channel: #4WebHelp
How would I be able to determine the settings for my web site ---> server, port, channel???
Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

I simply echo()ed the value of $userdata['username'] into the "value" of the form field. But that only works with phpBB.
Then the $username variable is passed onto chat.php, which then echoes $username into the config stuff for the Java applet.

No, we are using the free version (sometimes referred to as "backpack").

Your settings would be:
Server: backpack.webmaster.com (we just CNAMed irc.4webhelp.net to backpack.webmaster.com - looks better )
Room: whatever you call your room
Port: 7000
Get the backpack java applet: http://www.webmaster.com/products/backpack.htm |

Hello,
Thank you for responding.
I am using phpNuke6 with a phpBB port.
I am not that good at PHP yet.
Could you provide the script you placed in the block??
Thanks again in advance for your reply.

There's no point me posting it (it's actually only one line), because:
a) I don't know how Nuke's templating system works
b) It won't work on phpNuke anyway, because phpNuke doesn't use the same variable names as phpBB |
