A load average should usually be around 1 or 2, so 40 is a little high Laughing

even biggies like yahoo have it till 5.
40 is astonishingly high.
anything less than 1.5 is fine. above 3 = very high load.

try to reduce number of file includes in each script.

not sure, but script utilizing lot of cpu, it may be a spam script or a script that has a job too analyse lotz and lots of data.

Server load doesnt tell you anything(well not much), but ok fair enough 40 is a little high.

If you have SSH run top and look @ the cpu useage.

Run top then.. It will show you the name of the top 10 cpu using processes and username(and hence find the site) they are being run under...

Not much use but nice to know.

Interested in seeing what the cpu useage is too while the load is that high

0.45, 0.44, 0.37 are the values for PHPBuilder.com . and, they have very high traffic.
