Positioning GIF images

Hi

I am trying to position a gif image at a specific location on the screen. the only way I have found to do this is like the example below. (basically using line spaces)
Please does anyone know if their is a command or example to do this. I am aware of left,right and centre but I need to be more precise.

Any suggestion would be welcome

This is more of an HTML issue, as PHP can output any HTML you want.

Probably the most popular way for positioning things on a page is to use tables.

You can also use layers, but they are less widespread, possibly due to browser compatibilty issues.

CSS can also prove very useful apart from what Darren suggested

I too think that most propably css would be that way to go especially given the fact that the browser window will not always be the same. Some will be maximised others not and the resolution users will be using.

So relative positioning thru CSS is, I think the way to go. Some tuts at www.westciv.com

With CSS, just make sure you test in different browsers. I've seen Netscape doing ridiculus things if you're not careful.

why dont you use <div> to position the images on your webpage ??
