ARGH... why can't browsers just luv one another? >_<
Anyways.. I'm testing a little site design, but for the life of me I can't seem to get it to work in both browsers T_T It's all hand-coded, and maybe I just need a fresh pair of eyes to point out some dumb mistakes :)
Here's the page
http://gally.l33t.ca/test_w/
Works in NS 4.75 but not IE5.. the menu layers on the menu frame do not show - at all.
Someone please help!!!!!! |

OK, its working now...
IE 5.1 on Mac OS X
The menu works fine the only problem is that the 'Home' item is too low and is overlapping 'About WISH' its also a couple of pixels too far to the left.
Netscape Navigator 4.7 on Mac OS 9.2
The Menu works and appears fine although the spacing is increased compared with IE but it is even.
Although you might want to look into the bug in Netscape when a page using frames is resized all CSS styling is lost and in your case all of the menus open up, displaying the submenus making one very long list. There is a fix in Dreamweaver 3 (basically a javascript that reloads the page when it is resized)
IE 6 Windows 98
Menu does not appear at all.
Netscape 6.2 Windows 98
Only the first two menus are there, 'Home' and 'About WISH' but they do work
In general....
The only other thing that looks a bit odd is when the header image repeats itself at higher resolutions.
I can't help you fix it though because I never use layers for the very reason that they are so incompatible across different browsers. I don't think I have ever come across one of these expanding menu scripts that works reliably.
Hope this helps and good luck |

I think I've got the cure for you: DynAPI - the x-browser DHTML library... free Open Source code found at http://dynapi.sf.net. |
