 Does XHTML changes the look of html site

Well i was XHTMLizing the site from old html pages I found tht my deisgn is getting scattred up dont know why I have valdiated these pages they are correct according to XHTML rules but not correct according to the design wat i have earlier

Main thing to be done is height as XHTML (transitional) does not accept height attrubute problem has occured i tried doing it with css but it did not help me at all

The old site looks pretty messed up in Firefox, while the new XHTML site looks fine. In IE the site looked pretty similar.

For height, I presume you tried something like:

height: 100%; }

In XHTML 1.0 the height is calculated from the root html and not the body element.
