DomainSite is now offering 25 free .info domain registrations per person for a year. After the period of one year you have to pay to renew at their price, or dump the domain. No credit card info is required (just ignore those fields and it will work anyway, even though it says they're required).

NameSecure is also offering a similar offer, except that they require credit card info, even though they claim they won't charge you (it's for convenience Wink). I wouldn't be surprised if some people reported being charged after the year is up... Rolling Eyes

That sounds like a pretty good deal!

You just have to keep in mind the fact that you probably won't be able to transfer to another registrar after the first year: if you want to keep the domain, you'll have to pay DomainSite/NameSecure's prices.

Another one to add to the list:

DomainDiscount24

Note: NameSecure just has forwarding. You'll have to pay $7.50 to point the domain to your nameservers (although some say that if you email customer service they will do it for free).

What if you want to transfer the domain to another registrar after the first 12 months?

I imagine you'd have to pay a transfer fee, but I'm not sure.

And yet another one:

http://www.dotster.com/specials/info_special.php

I guess I should mention that Afilias, the company which manages .info domain names, is offering this special to all registrars, which explains why there are so many sites offering this special.

They don't seem like very good offers to me... they're making out something is free when really it isn't. Isn't that misleading? Or is it just me?

Umm... it is free, for a year. It's clear that if you want to keep the domain name after that, you have to pay.

Edit: Offer seems to have ended now anyway, except at Dotster.

I don't think domainsite.com has the offer anymore.

Dotster still does, but asks for a credit card.

Is there any site who still offers free .info domain with no credit card?

Unfortunately, I don't think so. Let me know if you find one.
