I am having troubles with some tables and was wondering if somebody could help me out.

Heres the problem I have a table with two cells and i want both cells to sit at either side of the tables like one to the left and one to the right but it doesn't seem to be working out like that and I am not sure why could somebody suggest how i could do this please... heres the crappy html i have for it that won't work.

Code:

<table width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" align="center" background="templates/subSilver/images/logo_fill_bit.jpg">
  <tr>
  <td width="50%" align="left" valign="top"><a href="{U_INDEX}" target="_top"><IMG src="templates/subSilver/images/logo_face.jpg" border="0" alt="{SITENAME}"></a></td>
  <td width="50%" valign="bottom" class="logo_picture">
  <a href="{U_SEARCH}" class="mainmenu">{L_SEARCH}</a>
    <a href="{U_MEMBERLIST}" class="mainmenu">{L_MEMBERLIST}</a>
    <a href="{U_GROUP_CP}" class="mainmenu">{L_USERGROUPS}</a>
    <!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_out -->
    <a href="{U_REGISTER}" class="mainmenu">{L_REGISTER}</a>
    <!-- END switch_user_logged_out -->
    <!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_in -->
    <a href="{U_PROFILE}" class="mainmenu">{L_PROFILE}</a>
    <a href="{U_PRIVATEMSGS}" class="mainmenu">{PRIVATE_MESSAGE_INFO}</a>
    <!-- END switch_user_logged_in -->
    <a href="{U_LOGIN_LOGOUT}" class="mainmenu">{L_LOGIN_LOGOUT}</a>
  </td>
  </tr>
</table>

As far as I can see your table is split in to two cells... do you mean you want the content of the right cell to be over to the right?

in which case add: align="right"
to the righthand <td>
