Is this skin, REALLY bad, or is it me?

Anyway, I'm glad I made the jump to vBulletin, for me 1.1.2 was the last good version of IPB, since then it's gone drastically downhill.

It's not my favourite but I don't particularly dislike it. Do you think it's worse than the previous skin?

to be fair it does say the skin is still under development, just like the code.

it's much worse, the skin's and skinning system in general have been bad since 1.1.2 in my opinion, I really don't like it and it just makes me feel glad that I got out when I did, makes me realise I made the right decision.

Sorry, I haven't looked into the customising aspect of it - I was just commented on the visual aspect, from viewing the official IPB forums.

I was as well, just don't like the look of it at all, they've destroyed what was a good product at one point.

I think it looks far better than it used to, I always found IPB to have a fat ugly look to it.

I'm not fond of it myself. I used to LOVE invision's look, but once they ditched the name "IBForums" and become uber-corporate, I thought they started losing their personal touch they once had.

vBulletin Gamma's new theme though, that's like message board porn!

The New VB has changed too much for my liking, they've changed a lot with the board and it's not like a forum anymore because it doesn't look anything like your typical forum, I'm sticking to vb 2.3.3 for the moment.

Perhaps. But I feel it gives it something that other forums don't, it makes it somewhat unique, and I rather like the new post style they've got in the new skin, with author/stats above the message instead of beside.

But, I will give it one thing, it's bloated. There comes a point where a piece of software has TOO many features...

I'm a fan of the new vBulletin - but I really enjoyed my stay with YaBB SE, which was immensely easy to start with. you practically have to be able to program PHP to properly define your own template in phpbb or IPB, IMO.
