Trouble with Apache

Its my first time with apache, and i'm running it off of my Win XP machine and for some reason it won't serve up my html documents. My Pearl is working fine, but for some reason every time i try to load purple.html, it gives me error 500. Anyone want to help me with this one?

My HTML code is:

And my error log reads:

solution 1:- keep is out of cgi-bin directory. all files in cgi-bin are supposed to be as executables.

solution 2:- edit httpd.conf . see the apache manual for details

good call with the cgi-bin.
i would have never thought of that
