phpBB - disappearing moved topic shadows!!

Support over at phpBB.com seems to be pretty much non-existent so I thought I'd see if anyone here might be able to help me work out what is causing a very strange problem I'm experiencing over at 'Fancy Rats'.

It has become apparent that the shadow topics that are left behind when a topic is moved to a different forum are disappearing.

The time it takes for the shadow topic to go seems to vary I've seen it happen 1-2 minutes after moving a topic and I've seen it take a couple of hours - Its basically one of thos problems thats next to impossible to troubleshoot!

Of course the first thing I thought of was that maybe someone else was doing it. I'm 110% sure it wasn't a moderator there would be no reason to delete a shadow that was just created. Still to make sure I've changed the admin password and set a the delete permissions on a couple of forums to admin only, but the problem still occurs with several tests I have done. (Anyway it would seem a strange thing to do if you had managed to 'obtain access' to a boards admin/mod features Laughing

)

I can't see what on earth would cause these shadow topics to be deleted from the database.

Please someone tell me they've got some good ideas as to what I can try - I'm going insane trying to figure this one out Shocked

Darren: could you create an account and a forum we can test on (which would be invisible to all other users)? It might help a little... Smile

We seem to have fixed the problem by disabling Pruning board wide, although I can't imagine why that would delete topic shadows... Confused
